Paul Tregouet, another St. Omer angel, pinch hits for an under-the-weather  Dave and delivers a very personal and bittersweet set of interviews at Mary Meaney's house with several of the Ukrainian women who fled with their children to France when the war began.

Yulia is an accountant and lawyer, Olga is an accountant, and Dasha is a journalist and media creator.  They talk about the hurdles they faced in being uprooted from their professions and communities and learning to adapt to living in a different country and culture.

They feel fortunate for the support they have received but face an uncertain future. As one said, "We have no plans, only hope." They find it  impossible to believe it is happening to them and ask how the listeners would feel if it happened to them.

Olga talks about when she was a girl and talked to men who fought in WW2 and said they never watched war movies because they weren't real. She uses words like cruel, dirty, unfair, inhuman, dehumanizing to describe the war. She closes by saying, "You couldn't think it would happen to you."

Thank you, Paul.  And thank you to the three courageous Ukrainian women and all Ukrainian refugees everywhere.
