Pat Hays discusses his book, Silicon Planet:My Life in Computer Chips.  It is available at Amazon and many other bookseller outlets.  Pat talks about his career and the phenomenal growth of the chip industry. The last chapter of the book covers his analysis of the Boeing 737 Max issue. Will AI [artificial intelligence] be able to design chips? Maybe, according to fellow chip wizard Bill Dally of NVIDIA.  Did you know the Apple M1 chip has 57 billion, that's with a B, transistors? Ask Pat.
How is chip manufacturing like an episode of I Love Lucy?  Ask Pat.
Enjoy the book.

In other news, the Texas Rangers won the World Series and, more importantly, the Dirty Dozen Bike Race was held in Pittsburgh last Saturday. Can you climb a 37% grade, boys and girls?

Ranger Rick comes down firmly against or possibly in favor of cursive writing.  Curse you, P. O. Peterson.
